According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed his expectations ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils go into the summer after a season that could potentially see them finish second in the Premier League. This has shown that we are still some way away from genuinely challenging for the title and the transfer window can help us address it.

The Norwegian is keen to see United’s transfer business done quickly. The Red Devils dragged their feet last time around, only bringing in Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles on deadline day.

United are interested in strengthening a number of positions. It includes a new centre-forward, a centre-back, a midfielder and a right-back. This has seen us keep track of the likes of Raphael Varane, Pau Torres, Erling Haaland, Declan Rice, and Kieran Trippier.

With the Euros also set to be held this summer, it would be in our best interests to get our work done early. Not only may it prove cheaper but will also give the players the time to settle in and prepare for the upcoming campaign.

It is not just incomings that the club must focus on. A number of high-profile players could also be on their way out of the club.

Both Paul Pogba and David de Gea could be among a host of names to call time on their Old Trafford stay. Others include Eric Bailly, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata.
