Team News: A depleted Manchester United side look to finish the job against Granada
According to the latest news on the club’s official site, Manchester United will have a number of first-team players missing for their Europa League second leg tie against Granada.
The Red Devils go into the fixture having won the first leg 2-0 away from home. With a two-goal cushion, the home leg should be nothing more than a formality if we perform to our ability.
Key first-team trio Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay will all miss the game after picking up a yellow card in the first leg.
Eric Bailly is another potential player who will be missing. The Ivory Coast international tested positive while on national duty and an update on his situation is awaited.
With Maguire out, Victor Lindelof will need to take the reins as the leading centre-back. Youngster Axel Tuanzebe is expected to partner him at the back. United do have a number of options to choose from to replace McTominay.
Good enough to get the job done!
Daniel James missed the 3-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur with an injury. It remains to be seen if the Welshman will return to action for this game. Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford are the other first-team stars nursing knocks.
Not only will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have to hand the armband to someone else but also bring in a host of replacements for his suspended stars.
Summer signing Alex Telles is an automatic replacement for Shaw at left-back. The Brazilian has been behind the Englishman in the pecking order this season. However, he has performed when needed and will be expected to do so again against Granada.
