AC Milan make informal bid for Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot
A report by Metro mentions that AC Milan have made an informal offer for Manchester United defender, Diogo Dalot, for a permanent move in the summer transfer window.
The Portuguese joined the Serie A side on a season-long loan last summer. And his time in Italy has been fruitful as he has made 24 appearances for Milan in all competitions.
And now, the Italian side want to make a permanent move for him. They have shown their intent with an informal offer of £12million for the defender, but that does not meet United’s valuation of the player.
The Red Devils think that Dalot is worth at least £18million and would not sell him for any fee they think is ‘risible’. Also, Solskjaer has stated earlier this month that the Portuguese could have a future at Old Trafford.
“The plan was always for Diogo this season, or the main thing for Diogo, was to be fit. He never managed to be fit for a long spell when he was here [and was] unfortunate with injuries.”
No permanent deal as of now
The 22-year-old joined United in an £18million move but never managed to find a place for himself in the club’s starting XI. And Solskjaer showed very early that he prefers Aaron Wan-Bissaka as his right-back.
His versatility is also something that United would miss if he was to leave. But United would not sell him if they don’t think the buyers are meeting his valuation as they feel the loan spell would raise his value in the market.
