Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot has his say on future at the club

Speaking to Portuguese publication O Jogo (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot, who is currently out on loan at AC Milan, has had a say on his immediate future.

Dalot joined Manchester United in the summer of 2018 from Portuguese outfit FC Porto. One of the last signings of the Jose Mourinho era, the full-back had an injury-riddled two years at the club before he was loaned out last summer.

Having joined Italian giants AC Milan on a temporary basis, Dalot has done fairly well, although the defensive side of his game continues to be a concern. Nevertheless, there have been quite a few positives during his loan stint in Italy.

Dalot came face to face with his parent club when Milan faced Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16. And the Portuguese touched upon the experience, insisting that it was a great feeling to play again at Old Trafford and meet familiar faces.

When quizzed about his future plans, whether he hopes to return to United or continue at Milan permanently, Dalot insisted that this was not the time for that decision yet.

“This is not the time to decide, because it won’t be decided for now, so it’s not even worth thinking about how things will end. I want to maintain the same line of thought that I have had so far, which is to focus on Milan, to be able to play and to be able to help the team until the end of the season.”
