“Worth looking into”: Former winger backs Leicester star to be a great fit for Man United

Youri Tielemans is a man in demand.
Manchester United could 'make a move' for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans in January or next summer.

Luke Chadwick believes Manchester United should sign Youri Tielemans

According to Express, Luke Chadwick believes Manchester United could benefit from the signing of Youri Tielemans. The Belgian showed exactly what he could do as he was central to Leicester’s win over Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The former Monaco man bossed the midfield as Leicester overpowered Manchester United to book a place in the semi-finals. Tielemans showed incredible guile and skill to dictate play from deep while also venturing forward to bag a goal.

Former United winger Chadwick believes that Tielemans could be a good addition to his former side.

“Quite often we see players play well against United and we think ‘could we get him and could he do well in our team’ and I think he’s got all the attributes to be a Manchester United player, but he’s playing for Leicester, another top club. Would they be able to prise him away?

“Looking at United’s options in that area of the pitch, he’s very similar to Pogba. He’s an exciting player that might be worth looking into bringing in, but as with other top players it could be a challenge to get them through the door at United.”

However, it could have been all too different as Tielemans could have been winning the match for United and not another way around. Manchester United failed to follow up their interest in the player in 2019 and Tielemans did not want to wait around, joining Leicester on a permanent deal.

All that makes it an even sour experience for United, who are crying out for a player like him. With Tielemans now firmly the spine of Brendan Rodgers’ side, it’s hard to see them letting him go to a fellow top rival.
