Atalanta and Napoli keeping tabs on Manchester United outcast Andreas Pereira
According to Italian publication La Lazio Siamo Noi, both Atalanta and Napoli are keeping tabs on Manchester United outcast Andreas Pereira.
The Brazilian is currently on a season-long loan to Lazio. His stay at the Stadio Olimpico has been far from merry and he is expected to return to Old Trafford in the summer.
With just one goal and two assists in 23 appearances, he is a forgotten man at Lazio. Most of these appearances have come off the bench, with Pereira lasting a mere 563 minutes. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The Italians have the option of signing the player permanently for €25m. While they appear to be unwilling to od it, a lower price could see them rekindle interest.
According to the report, Lazio remains keen to retain Pereira and the player too is willing to take a pay cut to make the deal happen. Sporting director Igli Tare has a high opinion of the Brazilian and is keen to retain his services.
With still a little less than half a season to go, Pereira could still find himself with an opportunity or two to showcase his ability. Any upturn in fortune will only increase the clamour for his signature.
The 25-year-old never quite reached his potential at Old Trafford. It is fair to say that his time at the club could be over and it is time for a fresh challenge.
Pereira has made just 75 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring just four goals and making five assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Signed from PSV Eindhoven in 2011, Pereira progressed through the ranks at United, winning the prestigious ‘Denzil Haroun Reserve Team Player of the Year award’ in 2014/15.
Much was expected of him in Red, however, that has not proved to be the case.
