Manchester United are pleased with Mason Greenwood despite him achieving a lower output
According to The Athletic (h/t Express), Manchester United are working behind the scenes to ensure Mason Greenwood gets back to his devastating best.
The 19-year-old burst onto the scene last season, establishing himself in a fearsome front three that also included Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. He scored 17 goals throughout the campaign impressing one and all. (h/t Express)
Greenwood has struggled to replicate the same form and has scored just once in the league all season. Despite this, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team are happy with the youngster’s contribution.
The player has shown signs in recent weeks that he is closing in on his best. There is now belief that a turnaround could be on the cards.
With Anthony Martial misfiring, Greenwood’s return to top form would be a massive boost to the United attack. The youngster replaced the Frenchman in the 66th minute of our draw with West Bromwich Albion.
As things stand, the club are ensuring that Greenwood stays sharp in training. They have got him focussing on scoring more at the near post.
Greenwood is an excellent player, who could go on to become a leading attacker for years to come. At just 19, the fact that he a first-team member for United speaks volumes of his ability.
He will hopefully step up and discover a measure of consistency in his game. As seen on his best days, he can be a truly devastating presence in attack.
