Manchester United fans react as Harry Maguire enjoys a frustrating night out against West Brom

Manchester United paid a world-record fee for a defender to land Harry Maguire in the summer of 2019. Coincidentally, the only answer he has been to is a trivia question on the topic.

United dominated the ball against West Brom but if not for David de Gea and some shoddy finishing, we might have come off with no points to show.

He was easily muscled out by Mbaye Diagne despite having started off in an advantageous position. Thankfully, De Gea earned his bread by denying the Baggies striker twice.

He went down just as easily in the other book and looked to have won a penalty for United. It was later overturned by VAR, not to mention the defender was offside, to begin with.

He later had the audacity to claim that decisions went against us in the match. In the lead-up to the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed his side didn’t believe in excuses and just got on with their jobs. It appears that his skipper missed the memo.

The United skipper almost stole the headlines with a stoppage-time header that cannoned off the post. Clearly, it was not his night.
