Manchester United willing to sell eight players in squad overhaul

According to MEN (h/t The Express), Manchester United are willing to let eight players leave in order to complete their squad overhaul.

The Red Devils had a rather quiet window where they only brought in Amad Diallo. Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Marcos Rojo (impending) were sold, while the likes of Jesse Lingard and a bunch of youngsters were sent out on loan.

Of the eight players who could be on their way out, four of them are already out on loan. This includes Lingard, Tahith Chong, Andreas Pereira, and Diogo Dalot.

The four stars are considered expendable and hopefully, will do enough to ensure they can earn a permanent move away.

Interestingly, French superstar Paul Pogba is also on the list. However, it should not come as much of a surprise given Mino Raiola’s comments regarding the player’s future. With his contract also set to expires next year, the club could very well look to sell the player this summer.

Others in the firing line include Sergio Romero and Phil Jones. The latter was a surprise inclusion into the club’s 25-man Premier League squad for the second half of the season.

Spanish veteran Juan Mata could also be on his way out as his contract continues to run down. Apart from Pogba, none of the players can be considered missable and could very well move on.

We cannot choose to stay still and will need to ramp up our squad if we are serious about competing for the top.
