Manchester United reject loan offers for Donny van de Beek
According to The Mirror, Manchester United have rejected multiple loan offers for Donny van de Beek.
Signed in the summer, the Dutch international made an immediate impression by scoring on his debut. However, this has done little to see him garner regular game time in Red.
Van de Beek was said to be upset with his situation and was even advised to look for a move away in January. Despite the presence of offers on the table, United are keen to keep hold of him.
This adds credence to both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Van der Sar’s belief that the player has a future at the club. A key player for Ajax Amsterdam, the 23-year-old’s ability is not in question.
United have a number of players to choose from in midfield. Nemanja Matic offers experience while Scott McTominay and Fred are non-stop engines.
Bruno Fernandes is undroppable while Paul Pogba is getting back to his best. Given the competition, it is easy to see why Van de Beek has struggled. There is however no reason why he cannot improve and stake a claim for a starting spot in the future.
According to ESPN, Solskjaer is keen to keep his squad together as United embark on a title chase. With half a season ahead of them, Van de Beek could yet get a number of opportunities.
The onus will now be on the Dutchman to be ready when called upon. He might yet have a key role to play for us this season.
