Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praises the mental and physical strength shown by Manchester United stars
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised the mental and physical prowess of his players.
The Red Devils came back to win against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night. It was United’s eighth win by a solitary goal in the Premier League this season.
Fulham to their credit put up a good account of themselves. The fact United were able to see them off is a testament to our development from last season.
“We’ve done better in tighter games; we’ve won loads of 1-0s and 2-1s.”
The ability to convert one point into three has become a habit. It could make the difference come to the end of the season. Given how close the race is this season, every point matters.
“When you add those up at the end of the season it means many, many points.”
Solskjaer believes the players were aware of the need to not settle for draws early in the season. He attributes the newfound ruthlessness to the team’s mental strength and physical prowess.
“We’ve shown great improvement in the mentality as well as physical robustness.”
Paul Pogba was once again the hero on the night. The Frenchman scored the winner against Burnley to send us top last week. He repeated the trick again at Craven Cottage yesterday.
The win was United’s 17th straight game in the league without a loss. It equalled the record set by Sir Alex Ferguson’s treble winners in 1999.
