Manchester United make their demands known for Paul Pogba who is wanted by Juventus
According to The Mirror, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United will let Paul Pogba leave next summer but refuse to be held hostage to agree on a cut-price deal.
The midfielder is touted to leave the club following revelations by Mino Raiola that his client will not be extending his current deal at United.
Pogba’s deal will expire in 2022 and the Red Devils will have two windows to get a realistic price for the Frenchman. With a January exit all but ruled out, it would appear he will be on the move once the season ends.
Juventus and Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of the midfielder and continue to be linked to him.
It was reported earlier that United may be willing to sell the midfielder to Juventus in exchange for Aaron Ramsey or Adrien Rabiot.
Romano has however now revealed that United will only part with Pogba in exchange for a hefty transfer fee or a world-class player.
Neither Rabiot nor Ramsey is in the same bracket as Pogba and it is difficult to see United agree on a swap deal involving the either.
United’s stand will be a dagger in the heart for Juventus, who are keen on re-signing the player. The Turin giants were keen to secure Pogba on the cheap in January for as low as £50m.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently discussed Pogba’s situation. He predicted that the Frenchman could decide to stay if the club starts to compete for trophies.
Given that we are currently in contention for trophies on multiple fronts, it remains to be seen if the Norwegian’s admission will be put to the test.
