Manchester United yet to have a date alloted to their postponed match against Burnley
A report by Manchester Evening News states that Manchester United are awaiting a response from the Premier League regarding their postponed match against Burnley not having a date allocated yet.
United were scheduled to play Burnley on matchday 1 of the Premier League. But the 12th September fixture was postponed to 2021 due to United being in the UEFA Europa League in August.
The fixture still does not have a date allocated to it yet as 2020 draws to a close. United and Burnley both have no midweek fixtures in the week which begins on January 11.
However, a potential meeting between the two in that week has not been planned yet. United play in the FA Cup 3rd round against Watford on 9th January. Their next fixture after that is a trip to Liverpool on the 17th.
A hectic fixture list
It has been a hectic fixture list for the club which has them play 8 games already in December. In addition to that, United are scheduled to play again before the new year when they face Wolves on Tuesday.
United also play against Manchester City in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup in the first week of January.
The date for that fixture has been cast in a shadow of doubt after City had their league game against Newcastle United postponed due to an outbreak of Covid-19 within their squad.
The semi-final, though, cannot be forfeited by City as that rule does not apply after the 4th round. This means that it could only be postponed. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

If it does come to that, the two Manchester clubs will have plenty of time to reschedule the match. The final is now going to be played in April instead of February, which spares the two clubs from any headaches.
