“Gives us another dimension”: Man United star full of praise for fellow teammate

Marcus Rashford lavishes praise Manchester United new boy Edinson Cavani

Speaking to MUTV (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has lavished praise on Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani.

The veteran striker joined the club on deadline day in the summer. He has since stepped up when needed, scoring four goals and assisting two more in just 502 minutes of action. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Predominantly used as a substitute, Cavani has often come on to change the flow of the game. His most memorable performance to date is the second half masterclass against Southampton at St Mary’s.

Rashford believes the 33-year-old has given the team a new dimension in attack. It is hard to argue with the statement given the Uruguayan’s impact so far.

“He’s a top player, he has lots of qualities and I think he gives us another dimension that’s different to what we already have.”

Cavani was the difference-maker for United at the weekend against Leicester. He came off the bench and set Bruno Fernandes up for our second goal of the night. Rashford relayed his admiration over how the striker set up what should have been the winner.

“It’s good to play with him and to see him scoring and assisting.”

Unfortunately, Leicester equalized late on and Cavani’s incredible assist didn’t get the reward it deserved.

The striker could return to the lineup against Wolverhampton Wanders on Tuesday. Given his performances so far, it would not be out of the ordinary to expect him to be on the scoresheet again.

More Manchester United

Anthony Martial has failed to replicate the form he showed for United last season. Cavani’s form has helped offset what could otherwise have been a problematic position for the club.

At 33, Cavani is nearing the end of his career. Not that anyone watching him would think is the case.
