His performances saw him win the Premier League Player of the Month for August. The 26-year-old made 38 appearances as United won both the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

Unfortunately, injuries have proved to be his undoing since as he would make only 41 appearances over the next three years. During the same time, he was sidelined for 54 games. (h/t Transfermarkt)

On his day, he is one of the best defenders in the league as he has shown numerous times. However, the main challenge remains his fitness record.

Now back to full fitness, we hope he ha sput his injury problems behind him to usher in a new era of dominance.
