Moyes Accepts Blame – I Think He Deserves Praise For Doing So

Say what you want about David Moyes, but his comments following the Manchester City loss finally gave me a reason to stick up for him.

We have seen our club stripped of confidence and are now forced to pay our money to watch a mediocre side, which for a lot of us is something we have never had to do before. On top of that, we have lost to nearly all of our rivals this season, and last night’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City was as hard to take as any.

However, Moyes has come out and said that it is his fault as he is the one that picks the players.

I think it takes a lot of guts to come out and do that, as he isn’t the most popular as it is. The Old Trafford faithful have stood by him for the majority of the season despite the shoddy performances but there are certainly plenty who want to see him leaving.

For me he inherited a poor squad. Yes they won the division last season but that was largely down to weaker opposition. Chelsea were led by a manager who was hated at the club, Wenger’s Arsenal struggled all season and Liverpool weren’t anywhere near the title contenders.

This has been a tough season, but Moyes’ comments have given me confidence in a new dawn for next season.
