The Metro are today reporting a story that Louis Van Gaal is being tipped for the next Manchester United manager, which some fans will be relieved to hear. However, here are three reasons why I would forget about him and stick with David Moyes. Yes, I am being serious.
1) Need to give him time
We keep hearing that Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t achieve what he did over night, and that in the early days of his tenure he struggled to get results. I firmly believe that if Moyes is given time, given the money he needs and the support from the fans that he will succeed.
We have seen glimpses of brilliance this season and we know that Moyes likes to use the younger players, so I think we will be better for it.
2) Van Gaal in it for the short term
The Dutchman has never been one to stick around. Although he cut his teeth at Ajax and was there for a while, he has since hopped from club to club, and at 62 I can’t imagine that would stop if he came to Old Trafford.
I think it’s a dangerous game to start chopping and changing like Chelsea, though they have found success in that.
3) Premier League experience
David Moyes knows what the Premier League is about. He knows the league inside out and knows which tactics are needed to beat different sides. Although he has struggled this season next time round he should have a squad more to his liking, and I expect the club as a while to benefit from his decade of knowledge.
