As per a report from The Athletic, according to Manchester Evening News, Man United will find it hard to land Michael Olise should they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

The 22-year-old has been attracting interest from Premier League giants ever since arriving at Crystal Palace three years ago.

Alongside United, Arsenal and Manchester City are the ones leading the race for Olise’s signature, for which Palace are going to demand a fee in the region of £60 million.

Currently 13 points off fourth place in the Premier League with six games left to play, United’s hopes for next year’s Champions League are all but over.

Up next for the Red Devils is an FA Cup semi-final affair at Wembley as they face Championship side Coventry City.

Olise won’t be the only one reluctant to join United next season

With their Champions League hopes all but extinguished, United can be expected to find it hard to attract a lot of players next season.

It’s not just the lack of Champions League football; United have proven to be quite the graveyard for talent for players and coaches alike over the last ten years, and players and coaches have started to take notice.

Liverpool, for example, were able to attract players this season despite being in the Europa League because they are well known for being football-savvy in general and a good place for players to grow.

So, if United really want to become an attractive prospect once again, they’ll need to do a lot more than just qualify for the Champions League under the new sporting ownership.
