Erik ten Hag is sold on Dutch centre-back and wants to bring him over to Manchester United from Bayern.

As reported by The Sun, Erik ten Hag is ‘very interested’ in bringing in Bayern defender over to Manchester United. 24-year-old Matthijs de Ligt has been very impressive for the German side this season.

What’s even better about his links with the Red Devils is that the Dutch defender has already played under Erik ten Hag during his time at Ajax. De Ligt has made nine appearances for the German champs this season.

It does not come as a shock that the Old Trafford squad is looking to bolster their defensive line. Their struggles at that end are well documented as the team has lost 14 games across all competitions this season.

The other Ajax player that Ten Hag has signed during his time at United is Antony. Everyone knows how that has worked out since the Brazilian has been unable to make an impact this season.

However, signing De Ligt will work out better for the team since his defensive excellence is well known. He can cover just about anyone and his tall frame at 1.89m makes him ideal for blocking shots.

Another defender that Manchester United have been linked to is Giorgio Scalvini who is making heads turn with his excellent performances for Italy side Atlanta BC.
