RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner reportedly shows interest in returning to the Premier League if Manchester United want him.

RB Leipzig star Timo Werner is reportedly eager to join Manchester United and return to the Premier League. The Red Devils are planning to bolster their attack by signing Werner on loan during the January transfer window.

United have lost 14 out of 28 matches in all competitions with vulnerabilities in all phases of the game. The Red Devils failed to score in nine games in all competitions as their attacking department struggled miserably.

United forwards Antony, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have continuously struggled with contributions in both goals and assists. Whereas, Alejandro Garnacho has provided impressive performances but he is nowhere near a reliable scorer.

Manager Erik ten Hag signed Rasmus Hojlund to sort out the goal-scoring issues that plagued United last season too. The Red Devils scored only 58 goals in the Premier League, way below the top clubs in the league.

Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal against Aston Villa on December’s Boxing Day after his long struggle. The Dane had scored five goals in their failed Champions League campaign during the first half of the season. Nevertheless, Hojlund needs proper competition and services which can also help ease some pressure off him.

Werner is reportedly eyeing Premier League return on loan if Manchester United expresses interest, according to football.london. He spent two seasons in the Premier League, playing for Chelsea where he failed to live up to the expectations.

Werner returned to Leipzig, the German club where he earned his reputation before joining Chelsea. Werner has scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions since returning to Leipzig before the 2022-23 season.

The 27-year-old made 89 appearances for the London club, contributing 23 goals and 21 assists during his time there. Werner can act as a good backup to Hojlund for the remainder of the season.

Chelsea sold Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah after they failed to live up to the expectations. These players returned to the Premier League while joining other clubs and showed their world-class abilities. Whether Werner can do the same thing is a matter of speculation unless United decide to give him a chance.
