Manchester United will not sanction move for Bruno Fernandes to the Saudi Pro League

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes might have a lot of interest from Saudi Pro League clubs but the English club will not sanction a move for the Portuguese maestro.

There is a reason why Bruno is the captain of Manchester United. Like him or hate him, he plays with the heart on his sleeve. With all the talent that he possesses, he has proved influential for the Red Devils many a time.

Bruno joined United in the winter transfer window in 2020. He immediately established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league. He became United’s talisman and eventually took over captaincy from Harry Maguire.

United’s position is unequivocal: they will not entertain any offers for Bruno Fernandes, either in the upcoming January transfer window or next summer. This decision underscores the club’s commitment to maintaining a strong core team.

His impact since joining United has been profound, establishing himself as a key player under manager Erik ten Hag and being named the club’s permanent captain over the summer. However, his captaincy has drawn some criticism.

Fernandes, who has recently turned 29, remains in the prime of his career, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by clubs in the Saudi Pro League. Following the trend of acquiring big-name players, clubs from the region have shown interest in Fernandes, mirroring their successful pursuits of Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Telles.

Despite the likelihood of a lucrative offer, United remain steadfast in their resolve to keep Fernandes at Old Trafford, a testament to his value at the club. The Portuguese midfielder’s contract with United extends until 2026, with an option for an additional year. (Transfermarkt)

Bruno Fernandes himself has demonstrated a strong commitment to Manchester United. Despite receiving significant offers from Saudi Arabian clubs, he has consistently chosen to remain with United.

This decision highlights not only his loyalty to the club but also his motivation to be a key part of United’s ongoing efforts to rebuild and achieve success. Moreover, Manchester United are reportedly not even considering Fernandes as a potential player to be sold.
