Fenerbahce eye summer transfer for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial
Turkish giants Fenerbahce are looking to acquire the services of Manchester United star Anthony Martial this summer, according to Turkish journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Superlig outfit are eyeing a possible late move for the France international in the ongoing transfer window. However, as things stand, the striker remains in the plans of manager Erik ten Hag.
But a considerable offer could tempt the Old Trafford side to part ways with the 27-year-old in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen whether the Istanbul-based club will end up getting a hold of his signature.
United signed Martial in the summer of 2015 from AS Monaco. Back then, he was one of the most promising prospects on the market.
However, the French national has been unable to live up to the expectations at the Old Trafford side. His time at the Red Devils has been marred by injuries and the striker has been inconsistent.
In the previous campaign, Martial was in and out of the side due to multiple injury issues. Erik ten Hag was unable to rely on the forward and had to sign Wout Weghorst in January to provide cover up front.
However, the French national did perform when he was called upon. In 29 appearances in all competitions for the Manchester-based club in the 2022/23 term, the attacker scored nine goals and provided three assists.
Now, we have added Rasmus Hojlund to our ranks from Atalanta. The Denmark international is a promising talent but is still raw and will evidently need time to adapt to the English top flight.

Considering the lack of depth in the Red Devils number nine position, it seems unwise to sell Martial. But what the French national’s future holds for him remains to be seen.
