Dean Henderson convinced he will leave Manchester United to sign for Nottingham Forest
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is convinced that he will leave the club for Nottingham Forest this summer.
The report also reveals that the Englishman is slightly perplexed that there are suggestions he could stay at Old Trafford.
Henderson spent the 2022/23 season on loan and started well before getting injured. The keeper confirmed that he will be back in time for the start of the pre-season.
A few weeks ago, it was reported that Forest are interested in signing the 26-year-old on a permanent deal after securing Premier League survival.
Henderson hasn’t had loads of conversations with United boss Erik ten Hag. Ironically, Ajax wanted to sign him on loan last January when ten Hag was managing the Dutch side.
It seems as if it will be great for both parties to take different paths before the start of the next season. Henderson can cement his place as a number one under Steve Cooper at Forest, while United can use the money of his sale to either buy a goalkeeper or bolster other departments.
David de Gea’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of this month. There is a stalemate in negotiations between him and the club.
If the Spaniard leaves for free, the Red Devils would need to sign a new keeper. They are interested in Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana, who has played under ten Hag before at Ajax.
The latest on that is that Inter are expecting a bid for the Cameroon international from United this week. Let’s see if that is the truth.

For Henderson, he should leave the club once the goalkeeping situation here is resolved. He isn’t good enough to play the number one role in this team.
