Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is frustrated with the uncertainty surrounding ownership delaying the transfer business
According to the Sun (h/t the Mirror), Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is fuming over the uncertainty surrounding the ownership of the club which in turn is directly affecting the transfer business.
Ten Hag had a successful first season with the club and led them to a third-place finish in the league as well as winning his first trophy as the club manager.
While he has done exceptionally well, any reasonable person would acknowledge that many players at his disposal are not up to the standards required to match the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Hence, the current transfer window is crucial for us to make the next step and thereby, high-quality additions to the squad need to be made.
However, seven months since the Glazers announced their intention of looking to sell the club or gaining additional investments, little progress has been made on that front.
This is directly affecting the club’s transfer strategy as the recruitment team would be unsure of the funds that would be available to spend.
It could turn out to be a really bad situation as our rivals are already strengthening and preparing for the next season. Liverpool has already bagged Alexis Mac Allister whilst in talks with further targets while Arsenal are going all in on Declan Rice and Manchester City closing in on Mateo Kovacic.
The frustration surrounding Rice is a particular one which is frustrating for Ten Hag as the Dutchman is keen to add the England International to his ranks with the player seemingly on the move this summer.
West Ham United have accepted that their current club captain will move sides this summer; hence, it is a wonderful opportunity to upgrade our starting eleven.
