PSG planning move for Manchester United target and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are planning on making a move for Manchester United target and Napoli star Victor Osimhen, according to Le Parisien (h/t Mirror).
The Parc des Princes side will look to compete with the Red Devils to acquire the Nigeria international’s services in the upcoming transfer window.
As things stand, the 24-year-old is the Old Trafford side’s prime target to bolster the attack. The club have been considering getting a hold of the striker’s signature since the summer of 2022.
However, a move for the former LOSC Lille attacker will take more than £130 million. But the Ligue 1 outfit could come up with the funds for it.
As things stand, Lionel Messi has departed PSG, freeing up a significant portion of their wage bill. Neymar is also linked with a move away from the Parisians this summer.
Therefore, that would leave Kylian Mbappe as the French champions’ only established forward. Thus, the Ligue 1 outfit need to bolster their front line in the coming months.
Osimhen has been impressive at Napoli. The Nigerian took his game to the next level in the 2022/23 season, finishing as the top goalscorer in Serie A. Luciano Spalletti’s team also got their hands on the Scudetto, with the 24-year-old leading by example.
Erik ten Hag had to rely on Marcus Rashford to find the back of the net on a consistent basis in his debut campaign in the Red Devils’ dugout. The 25-year-old shouldered the burden of our attack. But even the English national petered off a bit towards the end of the season.
