Inter Milan ‘interested’ in Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek
Serie A giants Inter Milan are ‘interested’ in acquiring the services of Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Italian outfit will look to capture the Holland international’s signature in the upcoming transfer window. At the moment, the 25-year-old’s future at the Old Trafford side is uncertain.
Van de Beek joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. However, the midfielder has been unable to stamp his mark at the Manchester-based club.
Over the years, the Holland international has been underwhelming at United. Fitness issues have not helped the 25-year-old’s cause either at the Old Trafford side.
After failing to get into the team in the previous campaign, Van de Beek joined Everton on loan in January 2022. Unfortunately, an injury hampered the midfielder’s game time with the Toffees as well.
At the end of last season, Erik ten Hag was appointed the United head coach. The Dutch manager previously worked with the 25-year-old at Ajax. The Holland international thrived under him in Amsterdam.
Therefore, it was not out of the ordinary to expect the gaffer to bring the best out of Van de Beek. Unfortunately, he has once again been plighted by fitness issues.
In January, the midfielder picked up an ankle injury and was sidelined for the rest of the campaign. However, even when the 25-year-old did feature, he did not light up the world. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been Ten Hag’s preferred options in the engine room this season.

Therefore, it would evidently suit Van de Beek to start anew elsewhere. Inter are one of the best teams in Italy right now. However, it remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri will be the place the Holland international will decide to kickstart his career next summer.
