Bayern Munich ‘readying’ £44 million transfer offer for Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund
Bayern Munich are ‘readying’ a £44 million offer for Manchester United target and Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, according to TuttoAtalanta (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are interested in bolstering their attack in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Denmark international is one of the potential alternatives for the Old Trafford side.
However, the Bavarians are also looking to acquire the services of the 20-year-old next summer. As a result, the Bundesliga giants are putting together a deal to steal the march from the Manchester-based club.
Apart from Man United and Bayern, Premier League rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United are also interested in Hojlund. But the Serie A outfit intend to keep a hold of the 20-year-old.
The Italian outfit want the Denmark international to continue his development in Bergamo for another season. La Dea are eyeing a bigger fee, in the region of £70 million, for the youngster.
Hojlund signed for Atalanta in the summer of 2022. The Danish national has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Serie a side, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
In the current campaign, Bayern have relied on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting up front. The Bundesliga giants are yet
to seemingly replace Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last summer. As for United, we only have two natural strikers in the squad at the moment in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. Therefore, the Red Devils evidently need to add more depth to the attack.

Erik ten Hag has had to count on Marcus Rashford to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season. Hojlund is still young and has the potential to become a quality striker. But for now, the Red Devils should pursue a prolific goalscorer rather than one for the future.
