Manchester United are still interested in Joao Felix, who is on loan at Premier League rivals Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, according to AS (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Red Devils have ‘asked’ about potentially getting a hold of the Portugal international’s signature in the upcoming transfer window. If the 23-year-old decides to leave the La Liga outfit next summer, the Old Trafford side will be in the running for his signature.

For now, the forward is plying his trade in the English top flight with the Blues. Graham Potter’s team are looking to acquire the former SL Benfica star’s services on a permanent basis.

Chelsea have bolstered their attack considerably over the last two transfer windows. The Stamford Bridge side have signed multiple forwards like Raheem Sterling, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and others. They also have Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic to call upon.

The Blues got Felix on a temporary move from Atletico in January. Since then, the Portuguese has put in some decent displays at the West London club.

Under Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital, the forward was struggling for game time. However, Potter has put immense faith in the 23-year-old.

Domestically, Chelsea are still struggling. However, Felix has brought some flair to their team. In the Champions League, the Blues managed to beat Borussia Dortmund to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

United have had to rely on Marcus Rashford to find the back of the net this season. The 25-year-old has shouldered the burden of Erik ten Hag’s attack. Other forwards at the gaffer’s disposal have not contributed to a great extent in the final third.

Therefore, we could evidently do with more firepower up front. But will Felix opt to leave Atletico and join the Red Devils over Chelsea next summer? Only time will tell.
