Casemiro and Marcus Rashford from Manchester United nominated for December Premier League Player of the Month

Manchester United stars Casemiro and Marcus Rashford have been nominated for the December Premier League Player of the Month award, via the official Premier League account on Twitter.

Apart from the Red Devils’ 30-year-old midfielder and 25-year-old forward, Erling Haaland from our arch-rivals Manchester City is also in the running for the honour. Ben Mee, Joao Palhinha and Kieran Trippier are in line for the gong as well.

In addition, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard from Arsenal are up for the gong. The Gunners are currently flying high under Mikel Arteta. They are at the top of the table in the English top flight right now.

Casemiro signed for United in the summer of 2022. The 30-year-old initially found it hard to get into the Red Devils’ starting lineup. Scott McTominay was being trusted by Erik ten Hag because of his performances.

However, after the Brazilian international’s Man of the Match display against Everton in his first PL start, the midfielder has cemented his place in the Dutch manager’s plans.

In December, Casemiro started in every league fixture for United. The 30-year-old gave an assist against Nottingham Forest. The Red Devils also kept a clean sheet in both matches.

On the other hand, Rashford has been in fine form as well. The Old Trafford side’s academy graduate scored in every PL fixture in December.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season for United. Ten Hag’s arrival seems to have gotten the forward back to his best. The England international is the Red Devils’ top scorer in the current campaign, having found the back of the net 12 times.

The Old Trafford side are in fourth place in the league table right now. We will face Manchester City next in the PL on 14 January. Hopefully, Casemiro and Rashford can be at their best once more.
