Premier League rivals Chelsea are still keeping an eye on England and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The 25-year-old has been “unsettled” at the Old Trafford side since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international returned to Manchester. And the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s arrival coincided with the United academy graduate having one of his worst seasons for the Red Devils.

Simon Phillips on Substack (Subscription Required) [h/t football.london] revealed that Rashford, who the Stamford Bridge side were interested in during the summer of 2022, is still being eyed by the club.

“His contract situation is an interesting one, and he has been unsettled since Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival. I’m told Chelsea are still keeping an eye on the situation still now, even after Tuchel’s departure.”

The England international is in the final year of his current contract at Man United. However, Erik ten Hag is keen on the 25-year-old and will be looking to extend his stay in Manchester.

While the previous campaign was underwhelming from Rashford, this season under the Dutch manager, the forward seems to have found his feet. The 25-year-old recently scored his 100th goal for the Red Devils in a 1-0 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League.

The England international is the Old Trafford side’s top goalscorer as of now this term. In 19 appearances in all competitions in the 2022/23 campaign, he has scored eight goals and provided three assists.

Rashford has pipped the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial in the pecking order to start regularly in the centre-forward position. The Portugal international does not seem to be favoured by Ten Hag, while the French star has struggled to stay fit this season.

Currently, the 25-year-old is in Qatar with the Three Lions. And the United academy graduate scored his first goal at a World Cup as England beat Iran 6-2 on 21 November.

Hopefully, Rashford will continue to perform this way upon his return to Manchester. It would be wise for the Red Devils to tie the 25-year-old down to a new contract and thwart interest from the likes of Chelsea.
