Cristiano Ronaldo aims dig at Manchester United youngsters in Piers Morgan interview
Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a dig at the youngsters at the club, suggesting that they do not care. The Portugal international feels the prospects do not listen to any advice.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old accused some people at the Old Trafford side of forcing him out of the club. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also stated that he did not respect Erik ten Hag.
In the first part of the discussion on TalkTV (h/t Express), Ronaldo took aim at the up-and-coming generation for ignoring his guidance. The 37-year-old feels some of the youngsters will not have long careers.
“I’m there every morning. I’m probably the first to arrive and the last one to go out. They listen to one thing, and in two minutes they’ve already forgotten and they’re doing what they think is better.
“They don’t care. Some of them, yes, but most of them, no. It’s not surprising because they’re not going to have long careers in my opinion. It’s impossible.”
At United currently, there is a host of young talent that the Dutch manager can count on. The likes of Jadon Sancho and Antony are still just 22. The former Borussia Dortmund and Ajax stars have showcased their talent at the club.
The Brazilian signed for the club in the recent transfer window. And he got off to a quick start at the club. The winger scored in his first three Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.
On the other hand, Sancho has struggled a bit since his move to Manchester. The 22-year-old has failed to excite the United fanbase. In Germany, the forward enticed people with his tricks. However, that has not been the case in England.
Alejandro Garnacho is another gem United have on their hands. The 18-year-old has come off the bench in recent weeks to great effect. He has made a difference in the attack with his directness.
Anthony Elanga is also an option at the gaffer’s disposal. Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage are also promising prospects. There are other youngsters on loan as well.

Ronaldo has not had the best of seasons in Manchester. Ten Hag has preferred other options ahead of the Portuguese icon in the starting lineup. The interview seems like a desperate attempt by the 37-year-old to force the club’s hand into selling him.
