Speaking in an interview after the game against Sheriff in the Europa League as quoted by BBC, Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has labelled Brazilian star ‘Antony‘ a clown for showboating against Sheriff.

The Red Devils emerged as 3-0 winners on the night thanks to some memorable performances. Diogo Dalot netted in the first half for Ten Hag’s men whilst Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo were also on the scoresheet.

Having secured the qualification to the next round in the Europa League, ten Hag will be a relieved man. However, the Red Devils still have work to do when they meet Real Sociedad on the final matchday.

A good win against the Spanish side will give Man United the top spot in the group, which could mean that the Red Devils could progress directly without having to play in the qualification round in the Europa league.

One main controversy during the game against Sheriff was the showboating by Antony. Soon after his failed skill, the Brazilian was taken off. Even if it had been coincidental, it was not a good memory for the Brazilian.

His skill sent the ball right out of touch for a goal kick and people are rightfully visibly displeased. Paul Scholes did not like what he say from Antony.

“It’s not skill or entertainment. It’s just being a clown.”

It remains to be seen how the Red Devils go about their business on the last matchday. They are likely to play a strong team as they look to get back to the top of the group and Erik ten Hag will have to plan for that.
