Barcelona highly interested in taking Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot to Spain
Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot is seen in high regard by Barcelona. The Blaugrana are interested in taking the Portugal international to Spain, according to Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is keen on Dalot being an option in the Catalan giants’ defence. And as such, the La Liga five-time Champions League winning side are confident of being able to entice the 23-year-old to leave Old Trafford for Spotify Camp Nou.
Dalot has been a standout player recently for the Red Devils. The Portuguese has put in brilliant displays in the 2022/23 campaign under Erik ten Hag.
The 23-year-old landed in Manchester in 2018 from FC Porto. In the Portugal international’s initial time at United, he was not the first name on the team sheet.
Subsequently, Dalot left the Manchester-based club on loan in the summer of 2020 and joined AC Milan for a season. The 23-year-old impressed many with his displays in Italy.
Dalot returned to United from Serie A in the previous campaign. However, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Portuguese was not afforded a lot of opportunities. Aaron Wan-Bissaka was the Norwegian manager’s preferred choice.
With Solskjaer’s departure, however, Dalot came into the fold. Ralf Rangnick favoured the 23-year-old to start for him. And the trend has continued under Ten Hag.
The former Ajax manager has chosen to start Dalot in every game we have played this season. And the Portuguese has returned the trust placed in him by the gaffer.

Dalot has become a key member for United this season. And Ten Hag does not seem to fancy Wan-Bissaka, the only other option we have in the position. Thus, it would be wise for the Red Devils to do everything in their power to reject any advances from Barcelona.
