Fabrizio Romano confirms the exit of Manchester United director of football negotiations Matt Judge in the summer
According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Manchester United will part ways with their director of football negotiations Matt Judge at the end of the season and there are no changes expected regarding the decision.
The club is undergoing a sea of changes not just behind the scenes, but also on the pitch, as they welcome Erik ten Hag in the summer as the new permanent manager. He will replace Ralf Rangnick, whose tenure as interim boss expires ahead of the new term.
ten Hag arrives from Ajax Amsterdam with a reputation that precedes him, having won nearly everything available to the Dutchman. The current campaign sees them lead the Eredivisie table, on course to win a hat-trick of league titles under their manager.
He is expected to move to his new club next season and start a rebuild of the side, bringing in players that he thinks will fit into his system and that he can rely on to bring trophies back to Old Trafford. The Red Devils have not lifted silverware in the last five years.
Changes being made at the club
The wholesale changes being made at United also sees Judge leave his position as director of football negotiations, where he was the main man in charge of handling players’ transfers and contract renewals of current stars.
Romano revealed that despite the departure of the senior club official, the decision on potential transfer targets ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window will be made by ten Hag. Rangnick may be departing in the coming weeks, but he too has already shared his opinion on what the team needs.
After years of mediocrity when it comes to incoming players, times seem to be changing at United. Much of their transfers in previous windows have not worked out, although the recruitment has admittedly been better when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was manager of the side.
His last major signings turned out to be Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho. Though these players boast of a big reputation and experience, it can be argued that only Ronaldo has found his feet and settled in during the current campaign.

But with Judge gone, and a new era being ushered, it seems as though the English giants are getting rid of their ageing players in the summer. Stars like Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, and Nemanja Matic are on the wrong side of 30 and have not been offered a new deal, which will see them exit in the summer for free.
ten Hag is known for building young and dynamic teams at Ajax, and it remains to be seen if these departures from the first team will be balanced by the arrivals of talented youngsters who are hungry for glory and have a point to prove. The Dutchman is said to have a final say on possible transfer targets, so it will be interesting to see who he manages to bring.
