24-year-old Manchester United star faces contract dilemma amidst disappointing form

Marcus Rashford needs to make key Manchester United contract decision amidst poor run of form

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford needs to decide whether he wants to sign a new contract amidst his disappointing run of form.

The academy graduate has been a loyal servant to the club over the last half a decade. Despite making his debut back in 2016, Rashford remains one of the younger members of the squad but has a ton of experience under his belt. The 24-year-old now has 18 months

left on his contract, with the option to extend it for a further year.

Man United are ready to tie him down to a new deal but there are some concerns over it. The player is apparently open to staying at Old Trafford but signing a new deal will see him spend his peak years at the Theatre of Dreams. It proves to be a tricky decision for the player given his poor run of form in the last few months.

The fans also got on his back during the 1-0 victory against Aston Villa in the Third Round of the FA Cup on Monday night. It is also likely that the appointment of a permanent manager in the summer could also influence his decision over a new deal.

Crucial for Rashford to sign a new contract

It is no surprise that Man United have no reservations about offering the academy graduate a new deal. He has impressed ever since he made it into the first team and has produced innate levels of consistency. At times, he has also been our talisman despite being as young as he is.

Man United have relied on him, and he has often delivered. Thus, there is no hesitancy on the part of the hierarchy but it is understandable why the player could have doubts about penning a new deal.

Rashford has always been a part of the future project at Old Trafford. However, he is now set to become a part of the present and will be expected to lead the line if we do not land a proper centre-forward over the next couple of years. Mason Greenwood could also play centrally, but the young winger is still only 20-years-old.

The 24-year-old is one of our own, but he needs to assess his options before committing his future. If he is unsure and goes on to pen a new deal, that could affect his form in the future or cause an embarrassing transfer embargo, which is something we can live without. But the Englishman has always been a top professional and this process is also expected to be a smooth process.
