Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is not sold out by Ralf Rangnick’s style of play
According to Mundo Deportivo (via Mirror), Cristiano Ronaldo has significant issues regarding Ralf Rangnick’s methods in Manchester United training.
Cristiano Ronaldo started his second spell with Manchester United emphatically. The Portuguese star has netted several last-minute goals to help the Red Devils cross the line. Currently, the 36-year-old forward has 13 goals and two assists in 20 appearances. The former Juve man has been the protagonist in this campaign, and any manager would want to maintain a good relationship with his star player.
However, Ralf Rangnick seems to be losing the trust of Ronaldo. It is believed that the Portuguese star is ‘unimpressed’ by the training methods implemented by the German manager in recent times.
Ralf Rangnick joined United as an interim manager in the initial weeks of the month. The manager is known for his high pressing style of play. It was anticipated that the 63-year-old would implement similar tactics after his arrival to Old Trafford. However, his training sessions were hampered by the Covid-19 outbreak in the squad as the club’s Carrington training ground was restricted for more than a week before the Newcastle clash.
Manchester United didn’t have a successful spell against the Magpies yesterday. The Red Devils are currently trailing city rivals Manchester City by 19 points on the PL table. Cristiano Ronaldo was infuriated during the game against Eddie Howe’s side and Portuguese star was seen throwing his arms up in the air on several occasions.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s standard has always been very high, and he demands such commitment from his teammates and managers. United is clearly off-track this season, even with the arrival of star players in the summer. Therefore, the frustration is understandable.

However, the manager is new to the job and might require some time to communicate his style of play to all the squad members. Therefore, criticism at this moment towards Rangnick seems harsh. The former Leipzig manager is a trusted figure in German football, and he should be allowed some time in the Premier League to prove the strength of his tactics.
