Transfer News: Manchester United ace Amad Diallo set to join Feyenoord on loan in January

According to transfer news on the Daily Star, Manchester United star Amad Diallo is set to join Feyenoord on a long-term loan deal in January.

The winger joined the Red Devils from Atalanta at the start of this year for £19million. He went on to play a vital role in helping the club to the Europa League final. However, he was not afforded several league appearances.

The youngster also missed out on the pre-season this summer after being called up for international duty. He returned later than others and was supposed to go out on loan move to Feyenoord.

The paperwork was in place, but the deal fell through after the Ivorian suffered an injury. He has recovered since, and the Dutch club remains interested in procuring his services. It also looks like a deal shall be completed between all the concerned parties in January.

The Eredivisie outfit is ready to orchestrate an 18-month loan deal, with a possible option to buy him at the end of the spell. United are unlikely to sign off on such a deal as it would mean losing out on a talented product.

Moreover, Edinson Cavani could depart Old Trafford once his contract expires next summer. The same can be said for Jesse Lingard, who might pursue an exit in January itself. Anthony Martial has also looked off the paces in the last year, and his future is filled with uncertainty.

Thus, the club shall need attacking reinforcements, and it would have been unwise to let go of a youngster who could add depth to the squad in the future.

Regardless, a loan move shall be the right decision for now, given the increasing attacking talent in the squad for the moment. With Jadon Sancho brought in the summer, it is unlikely Diallo gets a run in the first team unless some space opens up. Until then, it would be valuable gametime for the Ivorian at Feyenoord, were he to make the move.
