Glazers have never been particularly liked at Old Trafford.
According to The Independent (h/t The Express), the Manchester United board have decided on whether they want to bring in an interim manager to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The club are reeling from a 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.
Solskjaer has been under pressure following the inconsistent results, and calls for his sacking is common among the fanbase. Matters were made worse due to the reinforcements bought in the summer to back the man in charge.
The Red Devils have been backed to sign names like Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag to get them out of their plight. With the lack of permanent options to replace the current boss, United eyed Ralf Rangnick in an interim role.
However, the board have decided to not appoint someone on an interim basis to replace the Norwegian. He was initially signed temporarily after Jose Mourinho was fired and was subsequently given the permanent role after an early promise.
With the lack of success under Ole, it is peculiar that he has been at the club for such a long time. For a club of United’s status, one would have thought that the standards would much higher and trophies would always be an objective.
The trip to Vicarage Road was a forgettable one as Watford pumped us 4-1 with skipper Harry Maguire also getting sent off. If this keeps on continuing, then it would eventually rub off on the players, and it would create more unrest within the team.
Having earned 17 points from 12 matches, the English club are in seventh place and are just six points off the top four. Even with the poor results, things can still be turned around as the season is in its early stages. Given today evening’s result, whether Ole will remain in the hot seat remains to be seen.
