According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United are pressuring Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele to accept their offer for a transfer at the end of the season. He has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford recently.

The Red Devils are long term admirers of Dembele and have tried to sign him on multiple occasions. With his contract expiring in the summer of 2022, there has never been a better opportunity for them to try their chances. They can also reach a pre-contract agreement with the player in January as a result.

Following his £97m plus £38m in add-ons move to Camp Nou, injuries have plagued him, and he has not been able to find his feet. He has a goal involvement of 30 goals and 21 assists from 119 appearances for the Catalan side which is decent for someone who has been regularly injured.

The Blaugrana club have acknowledged the threat from Man United and are trying their hardest to agree to an extension. United are pushing from their side to force the Frenchman and his agent to give in to their demands.

The 24-year-old has expressed his desire to join the English club but is unsure recently following the arrival of Xavi Hernandez and Dani Alves. The latter duo, alongside Joan Laporta, are doing their best to convince him that he has a future with Barcelona.

His injury record with Barca would be concerning to some, but what is interesting is that he never had such issues at Borussia Dortmund and Stade Rennes. This could point towards the medical team or the fitness squad at the Spanish club that is causing these recurring injuries.

The Manchester club would be hoping that there is no change in the circumstances until the winter transfer window when they can legally be involved with the France international. Time will tell whether they will finally be able to get their hands on one of their long term targets.
