Transfer News: Manchester United ready to accept £10million for Jesse Lingard in January amid Newcastle United and West Ham interest
According to transfer news on The Sun, Manchester United are willing to let go of Jesse Lingard for £10million in January amidst interest from Newcastle United and West Ham.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the 28-year-old’s future, but some common ground is yet to be found. The Englishman has tried hard to get into the starting line-up at Old Trafford but to no avail.
The attacking talent at the club is far too much to guarantee him a consistent starting spot. Cristiano Ronaldo has shown what it takes to guarantee minutes, and the rest are no closer to it than at the start of the season.
Lingard is yet to make a Premier League start this season and has been restricted to off-the-bench cameos. It looks like he has had enough of it, and he might push for a move in the winter window with his contract expiring next year.
In fact, United are also open to letting him leave for a fee in the region of £10million. This fee is less than half (£25million) of what they demanded from West Ham in the summer. The Hammers remain interested and are a direct rival to the Red Devils in the Top 4 race.
Moreover, the English international spent a stellar loan spell at the East London club during the second half of last season, helping them achieve European football. However, there is another club in the running to sign the player.

Newcastle are also keen on a deal and might pay more than West Ham as he is a home-grown player. This would play right into United’s hands as they could generate more cash from a bidding war.
Regardless, Lingard’s contract will end next summer and given his aspirations to play for England at the 2022 World Cup, this move might benefit all the concerned parties.
