Manchester United receive boost as Mauricio Pochettino open to returning to the Premier League after PSG job
According to The Telegraph (Subscription Required) [h/t The Express], Mauricio Pochettino is open to returning to the Premier League after completing his tenure at PSG amidst links to the Manchester United job.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager was brilliant during his tenure in North London. He brought in young English players, developed them and integrated them with the senior members of the squad.
These factors coupled with his playing style led Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019. However, after losing the final and a disastrous start to the following season, the Argentine was sacked by Daniel Levy.
PSG swooped him up at the start of this year, but the results have been shaky. They came up short in the Champions League while Lille snatched the league title from them. He has done a better job this campaign but is yet to bring the best out of Lionel Messi after the Barcelona legend’s blockbuster move this summer.
It is now thought that Pochettino would be open to returning to England after his tenure at the French capital. A return to Tottenham was on the cards during the summer, but the Ligue 1 club wanted him to adhere to his contract.
However, he has now caught the attention of Man United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to win major silverware at Old Trafford and has not delivered this season.

The club pounded in the cash this summer to sign the biggest names in world football, but the Norwegian has not managed to get them working together. He is now facing the sack, and replacements are being considered to take over the hot seat.
Although Pochettino is open to coming back to England, his contract at PSG ends in 2023 and United might not want to wait that long. Regardless, Brendan Rodgers and Erik Ten Hag remain possible options as the Red Devils look to win the biggest trophies.
