Mauricio Pochettino, who is set to be appointed Chelsea manager, is eyeing Manchester United target and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to The Independent (h/t Metro).

The former Paris Saint-Germain and Spurs head coach has agreed to personal terms with the Stamford Bridge side. Also, the Argentine gaffer has discussed potential signings with the Blues, one of them being the English skipper.

Chelsea have endured an abysmal season. The Stamford Bridge side have invested heavily under the new ownership of Todd Boehly. But there have been no results so far.

Despite possessing an abundance of talent up front, with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz, amongst several others, the Blues have struggled to find the back of the net.

Kane is someone Pochettino is very familiar with. The England international developed into the striker he is today under the managerialship of the Argentine.

But the 29-year-old has failed to find a lot of success at the North London side despite his best efforts. His current contract with Tottenham is set to expire in the summer of 2024.

At United, Erik ten Hag lacks a quality number nine. While Anthony Martial has showcased his qualities on occasions, the French national has struggled with fitness issues this season. We had to sign Wout Weghorst on loan in January to add depth to the attack.
