Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hails Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and likens him to Michael Jordan after Atalanta theatrics
Speaking to the reporters after the game (h/t Twitter/ Fabrizio Romano), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo for his performance against Atalanta and likened him to Michael Jordan.
The 36-year-old scored two brilliant goals on the night as he saved the Red Devils from slipping down to third place in their UCL group. Although Atalanta took the lead twice on the night, United’s Portuguese superstar was not going to throw in the towel so easily.
The former Juventus man’s added-time strike against the Italian club was his third goal that turned out to be the winner or equalizer in the Champions League this season. He produced heroics against Villarreal and Atalanta at Old Trafford before repeating the feat against the latter at the Stadium of Bergamo last night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was full of applause for his entire team, including Ronaldo, who he likened to former NBA superstar Michael Jordan. Solskjaer told reporters after the game (Twitter/ Fabrizio Romano):
“Cristiano for us is like Michael Jordan for Chicago Bulls. No one can question the character of these players. They just don’t give up, and they don’t give in, and they keep going. We had to make a few changes, and they worked”
The American professional was exemplary during his stint with the Chicago Bulls as he would never give and developed a knack of scoring last-minute winners. Ronaldo, on the other hand, has been bailing out United all season.
