Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo hailed by Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Speaking on the Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports (h/t The Mirror), Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin has hailed Manchester United ace, Cristiano Ronaldo, as the best player in the world.
The Everton ace has been in thrilling form for the Toffees over the last couple of years and hit his peak under Carlo Ancelotti last season. Although he would have been hoping to get off to a similar start under new boss Rafa Benitez, a toe injury at the start of September has left the 24-year-old out of action for a while as he is still far off from stepping onto the pitch.
The Englishman has, however, revealed his admiration of United star Cristiano Ronaldo. The centre-forward has found the back of the net seven times in ten games since he arrived at Old Trafford, with his last one being a mesmerizing strike against Tottenham Hotspur.
Calvert Lewin spoke on the Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports (h/t The Mirror) about how he has studied the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“He’s (Ronaldo) the best player in the world, and it’s due to his work rate and his willingness to keep scoring goals…As a centre-forward, I love to see it. I’ve studied him and someone I’ve always looked at.
“Thinking how he has got himself in these positions. You spend a lot of time watching players in front of you. You might appear at the right place at the right time, but you’ve got to ask yourself how did you get there.”

The Portuguese international is a phenomenon, especially since he did not take any time to adjust to the physicality and the pace of a league he played in as a teenager and as a young adult.
The 36-year-old’s does not look he is going to slow down any time soon, and perhaps Calvert-Lewin could not have found a better role model than the Manchester United legend as he looks to develop into a lethal striker.
