Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo breaks international record with Portugal

According to the Mirror, Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the record of scoring against most nations with Portugal during their 3-0 victory against Qatar.

The Manchester United forward has been at the forefront of several club and country records for several years now. However, at 36, he is still breaking the most niche records known in the sport.

On Saturday, the Portuguese international featured heavily in the game against Qatar as he scored the first goal on the day, thanks to an assist from club teammate Diogo Dalot. The 36-year-old broke Ali Daei’s record of most international goals earlier this year but touched a new feat on Saturday after he scored his 112th goal for his country.

Qatar became the 46th different country the United ace found the back of the net against – a stellar record for somebody who is ageing like fine wine.

In fact, Ronaldo is also one of the top appearance makers for a European nation as he has featured in 180 games for Portugal.

It has been a good week for the Portuguese, as he was also named the Premier Player of the Month award for September after he scored 3 goals in 3 games.

Although it is good to break records, Ronaldo’s real test will come against Luxembourg in their World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday night as he looks to steer his nation to the World Cup next year.

There will be no rest for the 36-year-old after that either as the Red Devils are set to enter an intimidating period of 6 games in 20 days before the next international break, including matches against Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and two games in the Champions League against Atalanta.
