After the euphoric high of Cristiano Rinaldo’s fairytale return and instant delivery, Manchester United are getting a harsh wake to reality as the team has managed only a victory in its last four games. The latest showing was a shock defeat to a resilient Aston Villa side that stuck around until the dying minutes to steal a goal and victory at Old Trafford. With all the latest updates and insights on , fans will be looking forward to seeing a resurgence from the Red Devils.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had the owners invest a fortune this summer to bolster up the ranks of the team and secure key players. None was bigger than the return of fan favorite, Cristiano Ronaldo, who did not waste time reminding the fans and opponents why he was such a big deal the first time around. However, United have fallen into a bit of overconfidence and are paying the prices with piling up draws and shock defeats that could quickly knock them out of title contention.

After a midweek Champions League game against Villarreal, Ole’s men will have Everyon waiting in the English Premier League. Managing the freshness of players and injuries would be a bit of a conundrum for the Norwegian who will be without Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford. The frontline has been held by Ronaldo and Greenwood this season, supplied by Bruno Fernandes and Pogba, but with an eye on the league game, it will be interesting to see Solksjaer’s tactics.

Last time out, the gaffer took out Ronaldo, to devasting effects as Jesse Lingard repaid the gesture by gifting a goal. United need a win in both competitions to put them on track, making both fixtures key.Anthony Martial and EdinsonCavani have not featured much this season, but are fresh enough to be viable options in case Ole wants to rest Ronaldo early. Lingard despite his mistake has been great, scoring that scorching effort against West Ham in matchweek 4.

Everton are tied with Manchester United on points in fifth and fourth place respectively, and will be looking to move ahead by conclusion of the weekend’s clash. United are currently on 13 points, which is tied with second-placed Man City, and third-placed Chelsea, with Liverpool just a point away atop the table. A good outing could see the Red Devils leap frog the City and Liverpool, who face each other on the matchday.

Once again, all eyes will be on Ronaldo and if he can continue his great form infront of goal, while his fellow Portuguese teammate, Fernandes, will have some atonement to do after nonchalantly missing a crucial against West Ham. Mason Greenwood started off great but is beginning to level off, which could prompt Ole into making a tweak. Playing for the top of the table should definitely get this two stories clubs excited and ready to give their all.
