Aliou Traore set for Parma after being released by Manchester United

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Tribal Football), Aliou Traore is set to sign for Italian club Parma on a free transfer after being released by Manchester United.

The 20-year-old is one of eight players that were released by the club earlier this summer, including the likes of Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, and Max Taylor.

Traore has now become the 7th player to find a new club, with Argentine keeper Romero yet to find one. The youngster, however, never got the chance to impress the coaches at United.

Ever since he joined the Old Trafford outfit’s youth academy in 2017, the youngster has only managed 50 appearances in various ranks of the club’s academy but never got the chance to represent the senior team in his three and a half years at the club.

Last season, the Frenchman joined Ligue 2 side Caen on loan and helped them avoid relegation as the French outfit finished 17th, just above the drop zone by goal difference. Traore made 24 appearances for the club in all competitions and then returned to United at the end of his loan deal.

United, however, released the 20-year-old, who immediately became a free agent for other clubs. As per Fabrizio Romano (h/t Tribal Football), the youngster has now signed for Italian club Parma, who were relegated from the Serie A last year after finishing 20th. However, Traore will get the opportunity to play in the same team as Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon.

United, however, would be hoping that did not make a mistake by letting the starlet leave the club on a free transfer. Although only time will tell whether the Old Trafford outfit made the right decision.
