Former Manchester United ace Paul Ince now a part of the National Football Museum Hall of Fame
The official Manchester United website confirms that Paul Ince has been inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.
The Englishman played for the Red Devils for six years between 1989 and 1995. Between that time, he helped the club win two Premier League and FA Cup trophies.
A defensive midfielder by trade, Ince was a strong presence in the club’s midfield for a number of years. Outside of his time at Old Trafford, the ‘Guv’nor’ played for Liverpool, Inter Milan, Wolves, and West Ham.
However, in an interview with MUTV, Ince revealed that it was his time at Man United that he sees as the highlight of his long and illustrious career.
Ince gets HOF honour
“When I look back at all the clubs that I played for, it’s about winning. I won most of my things at Manchester United, a couple of titles, a couple of FA Cups… It was a fantastic six years I had there. I played with some great players, I played with my idol Bryan Robson in ’92 when we won the title in his last season. It was a fantastic time at Old Trafford.”
Ince has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to football. He was also the first black player to wear the captain’s armband for the Three Lions, doing so in 1993.

The legendary Viv Anderson was the one to induct him into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame, and he thinks of Ince as a worthy inductee.
“Very much so. You look at what he has done in his career, from the early days at Manchester United. He said to me: ‘I should have come here years ago.’ I said: ‘I tend to agree with you.’ Yes, he’s a great acquisition, should I say.”
