Manchester United returnee Cristiano Ronaldo has been welcomed back to Old Trafford by Edinson Cavani, who has surrendered his number 7 jersey.

One of the most iconic numbers in club history. Ronaldo sported it during his initial spell at the club. Cavani was handed the jersey last season but has now decided to relinquish it following Ronaldo’s return.

The Uruguayan sported the number for the final time in our win at the Molineux last weekend. He will now sport the number 21, the same he dons for the Uruguayan national team.

Despite turning 36, Ronaldo remains one of the best players in the game. He might not be the all-conquering presence of old but still packs a punch to send the best reeling. Hopefully, he will once again lead United to the promised land of trophies.
