Manchester United fans are livid as club legend Cristiano Ronaldo nears a move to arch-rivals Manchester City this summer, as stated in a report by ESPN.

The Portuguese legend spent six glorious years at Old Trafford and to this day remains a favourite amongst the Red Devils crowd. With his contract at Juventus winding down, it remains to be seen if he has played his last game for the Italians.

The Turin giants are not averse to selling him should their asking price be met. In Manchester City, they have a team who are desperate enough to do just that.

Pep Guardiola’s side fell short in their efforts to land Harry Kane this summer. Bringing in Ronaldo would give them a top-quality short term option who is also a match-winner.

While it was unfathomable that Ronaldo would move to City, stranger things have happened in the past. Fans have a right to be upset but at 36, this could be Ronaldo’s last big money move in his career.

A player who served us well, it is time we looked to the new crop of players at Old Trafford. United will do well to focus on the players yet to write their history instead of those whose chapter has already been closed.
